I checked. No time machine anywhere. Couldn't loop the day back to midnight the way Meet Cute does it, so 1 AM was genuinely the best this timeline could manage.
The actual reason is far less cinematic: I'm a dummy. But the wish counted, and this is me making up the difference with interest.
